Thanks Tak,

Unweblicating/weblicating base LX programs is no problem.

The problem arises when trying to weblicate our own developments. For
example, display I/O within sub procedures is not recognised by the
weblication process.

I would hate it if we had to rewrite our own developments, rewriting
perfectly good code, just to be able to weblicate the programs. Who
wants to write/maintain code based on the LX program structure
(generated from the now defunct AS/SET application) ?

WebTop itself seems to be 10 years out of date already and doesn't
provide any additional functionality over green-screen. In fact, iSeries
Access for Web gives the same result (LX through a browser), is free,
and doesn't require a weblication process (that has coding
restrictions).

Hi Sean,

I assume you are on LX 8.3.3 + BMRs etc.
Infor Global has stopped using AS/SET any more since LX 8.3.0.

To modify LX programs, I usually
* unweblicate the LX RPGLE source
* Modify
* Weblicate again (Use LX83TOOLS and remember to add the Copy source in
the library list when compiling)

I have also upgraded our locally developed modules such as Cashbook and
GST from V 6.1 / V8.2 programs to LX 8.3.3 and weblicated them without
problem.
(a bit lying, sometimes you hit the CPY_WEB, UPDWEBTOP command issue
because of
the wrong version when you try to move the metadata to another AM2000
library but you can ask OPS to get the right command/programs)

I have not develop from scratch though, I believe if you follow the LX
program structure in RPGLE (especially function keys and action code
etc.), there should not be any major problem in weblicating them.

Tak

Is anyone using WebTop to weblicate any in-house non-AS/SET LX
developments ?

Or are we the first (guinea pigs) !
