I can't help with setting a default receiving location, but we
have found that receipts or any other transaction going to a blank
location is caused by a blank location in the Location master, so a
blank validates. You shouldn't be able to create that in ILM, but it
happens, I think when you do a copy. We're on 8.0. - and used to be on
6.0.

Subject: [BPCS-L] Receiving Items going into a blank location.

Hi,

We're currently using V6.0.02 and I'm trying to work out/remember if
it's possible to setup items so that they have to be received into a
location when you generate purchase receipts. The reason for this is
that we are repeatedly finding stock in blank locations, which is
causing a problem for our shop floor processes.

I thought that it was as simple as setting the receiving warehouse's
"default receiving location" to a valid (non-blank) location, but this
doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Paul
