Thanks Tom. I have seen this date issue surface at other BPCS clients
of ours who have installed our ecommerce solution, specifically on
entered date. The strange thing is that they are very tough to recreate
but the one's I have seem to be related to jobs that have hung out there
over the turn of the day.

Thanks for the update on Price Book Date as well.

Andy,

We are on V6.04. This may or not be relevant, but we have had similar
issues in the past.

We had a situation a few weeks ago when we didn't do our usual nightly
backup, so the system never went down, an operator on the shop floor
left his PC / BPCS session up all night and when they came to post
Inventory transactions the following day the system was dating the
transactions the previous day. We switched the PC off and rebooted and
it was OK - weird, but true !

We also have an in-house e:Commerce application that takes orders from
the web onto an intermediate AS/400 and via DDM across to our production
AS/400 via the ECM module. It's been going for a few years, so I forget
the exact details, but we used to have problems with the Order Entry
date being set to the "previous day" when the order hit the production
box. I put in a command RTVSYSVAL QDATE &DATE to ensure I was picking up
the right date and used &DATE as the correct date things are fine.

This may not help, but just to say we too have had unexplained problems
(to me at least, there may be good reasons !)

Not sure what you mean by "Also, and forgive my ignorance, can you tell
me what value this has on the order (specifically the header ) itself?".
If you mean the function of the Pricebook Date - BPCS uses this date to
determine which prices to use in its pricing/discounting rules when you
have prices on system for the same item with different effectivity
dates.

Andy,

Normally the price book date defaults to the requested due date.

Why you had your specific scenario of the price book date being one day
prior to the entry date is confusing.

What is the requested due date?

Subject: [BPCS-L] Question on Price Book Date

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to find out what how the Price Book dates are populated
during order entry (ECH.CHPRBD and ECL.CLPRBD). We developed a web
based ecommerce application that ties into BPCS 6.02 and uses ORD702B to
create the header and line items. I've recently had an issue in which
the order was said to have been entered on the current day but the price
book date is equal to the previous day; however I cannot recreate this
issue. I looked through the code to see how this value gets populated
and all I can tell is that it appears to be set to the current date if
not overridden on the calling param list to ORD702B. Can you tell me
what the standard procedure is for populating this value on entry?
Also, and forgive my ignorance, can you tell me what value this has on
the order (specifically the header ) itself?

Thanks,

Andy
