We started our data sync project about seven years ago and synchronize
with our first customer in May 2003. We started out using a behind the
firewall catalog application that did not have an interface with our ERP
system BPCS 8.1. In 2006, we changed to another catalog application
that had a BPCS interface adapter. We are now migration to a hosted
managed service from the same vendor and we will still be able to use
the adapter to create the file for upload into the managed service. The
easy of getting my data from BPCS into the catalog and price were the
main reason I changed vendors.
The vendor is NuBridges.

You may contact me off-line.

Subject: Re: [BPCS-L] Data Synchronization

We have implemented data synch with a couple partners and have a couple
lined up.

A couple years ago we chose an independent system (1sync) and IT put in
a couple queries to collect key data to drive the process. The reason we
chose to apply an independent system and a spend a higher labor content
to collect the data was that we felt that we did not have the resources
to implement the system correctly and had other initiatives that would
allow us to consider this in the future .

Out of the 80 or so pertinent data pieces, IT was able to provide firm
direction on 15. the other 65 came from common sense about our product
(not so much) and a lot of labor to collect engineering data, customs
data, industrial engineering data (moreso).

The future is now here and we are currently planning on a project to fix
the gaps through our PLM (Product lifecycle Management) bolt-on system.

We are currently running on bpcs 6.03 heavily modified.

Contact me off-line if I can help.

Subject: [BPCS-L] Data Synchronization

Has anyone had any experience with implementing a Global Data
Synchronization for their customers?

I currently have a list of vendors which supply services/software to
fulfill our needs, but I am interested in hearing from some BPCS shops
that have implemented this process with 1Sync Data Pool. Which vendor
did you choose and why?

We are currently running on BPCS 4.0.3

Thank you all in advance.
