A note here, this is sort of dangerous. It will set ALL non-'01' records to
'01', so if you had multiple alternates, you'd be quite upset at the
results. To safely swap two and only two types, you'd need a WHERE clause
(which is probably a good idea anyway):

UPDATE FRT SET RMETH =
CASE RMETH
WHEN '01' THEN ' '
ELSE '01'
END
WHERE RMETH IN (' ', '01')

The WHERE limits the records updated to only those with a method code of
blanks or 01, which would prevent any unintended side effects on other
method codes.

Hmmm... good suggestion, and here's a shorter version:

UPDATE FRT SET RMETH =
CASE RMETH
WHEN '01' THEN ' '
ELSE '01'
END

I think the name of the method field is RMETH, but if not just change the
field name and this should set blanks to 01 and 01 to blanks, without any
multiple passes.
