I have not done this before, but have an idea how maybe to do it.

Create a value some place ... maybe tiny file with only one record, maybe some kind of data structure = "What METHOD will we use next?" with a program, off of menu, that they can use for inspection, and update.

Look at the job stream of SFC52* to figure out at what point the FRT data goes to work files to go into FOD Make a modification:

There are several different ways that shop orders can be released ... under the covers they all call SFC520, at least as of 405 CD.

The method to be used is the value in the new above.
Unless that method has no data, in which case use the blank reality.

There's probably shop paperwork of some kind
Maybe some field there should include which method is being used

The process the client will then use.
You about to do a mass launch of shop orders
Check the method to be used is what you want
Do the mass release

Since method applies to both BOM and Routings, make sure you are clear on whether the modification does also.

Al Macintyre, moving from BPCS janitor to BPCS pathologist

A client has created a couple of hundred item routings in FRT, each with a
specific alternate manufacturing code.

They want to default to this code when releasing shop orders. Is there some
way to set the default code to something other than "blank" and if so how?

TIA
