Hi Jamie,

I'd be interested to know how your product does that, since the SSA X-Ref tool can no longer keep track of all the complicated 'spaghetti' that is BPCS! Seriously though, what our product (Locksmith in the US) does, is archive each BPCS area by function. So, in other words, if the customer just wants to archive orders, it takes care of all the related files in an orderly way, checking the integrity of transactions as it goes (very necessary within BPCS!) and fixing if necessary. So the customer doesn't have to worry, and he knows that if his accounts department, or the auditor, wants to interrogate that archived data later on, it is easily made available within the BPCS library list. That's called 'having your cake and eating it'!

cheers,

Clare

Hi Clare,

Before we extract the data we - or rather the product - will analyse the
relationships between the files and build up a "family tree" and also will
maintain database integrity.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you. I am based
in the UK and please let me know your contact details.

Jamie,

But does your software know about the BPCS file relationships without which
you can end up with 'orphaned data' and a nest of vipers???

cheers,

Clare
