Yes this file is for the capacity and yes it is calculated as such depending upon how you have these items set up (i.e. routings, work centers, departments). So you are on the right track, and yes it does in fact affect everything that is done pretty much, so if things are not set up correctly it will give you some pretty far fetched figures in the reports. LWK "month" hours (Al Mac) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- message: 1 date: Wed, 30 Aug 2006 11:32:29 -0500 from: Al Mac <macwheel99@xxxxxxxxxxx> subject: [BPCS-L] LWK "month" hours We're 405 CD. A monthly report created years ago by some forgotten employee includes by factory dept work center the fields * LWK.WMHRS = MTD Hours * LWK.WMIHR = MTD Hours In I have been asked to research what these fields represent, and where the data comes from that populates them. Hundreds of programs mess with this file .. So far, I dug into a tiny fraction of them. Looks to me like this is a Capacity Planning concept The hours are computed from standard routing time to do the quantity of the parts involved. "month" is not fiscal month but rolling 4 consecutive shop calendar weeks. LWK.WMIHR = MTD Hours In means work load to be done or planned, consisting of this week, next week, for 4 weeks worth LWK.WMHRS = MTD Hours means work that labor reporting says we completed, consisting of this week, last week, for 4 weeks worth Am I on the right track, correctly figuring this out? - Al Macintyre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:AlMac http://www.ryze.com/go/Al9Mac BPCS/400 Computer Janitor ... see http://radio.weblogs.com/0107846/stories/2002/11/08/bpcsDocSources.html ------------------------------ -- This is the SSA's BPCS ERP System (BPCS-L) digest list To post a message email: BPCS-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/bpcs-l or email: BPCS-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/bpcs-l.
