Ric

I have inplemented the whole package. I havent had the time today or
yesterday to format an email to explain my opinion as I am in the middle of
a merger of 2 BPCS 4.05 environments into one, a precursor for upgrading.

If you would like to talk voice about it sometime, email me a phone number,
or wait until I have to to get you some details.

Thanks
Jim

Folks,

While I appreciate your info and the different things that are of
importance, I still would like to know which company has implemented ERP LX,
and not just the Financial piece from Masterpiece, but the
MPS/MRP/SFC/PUR,INV, et al.
It seems that no one in the U S has completed this. Am I right?

Right, but we have other problems, most notably, our forms processing
package (OPTIO) doesen't seem to like DBCS spool files. Some of the DDS
logical files I have created use SST (sub string) on text files, which
now don't work. I have updated the system reply list, but I still get
the message for queries.

We are just getting into this, and I had hoped there would be an easy

I have queried both SSA (or whoever they are now) and IBM (we have
support from both) and neither have been much help.

I can't believe no one else has had this problem.

I got hold of this mail via the BPCS Forum and would like to ask a few
questions.

1. Are you guys perhaps using EAM V9.0 (Enterprise Asset Management -
Plant

conversion go for the interface?
2. Did you convert from BPCS V6 to ERP LX or was it a total new
installation?
3. Is AS/Set still part of the ERP LX Environment?
4. Any problems or tips you can share with ERP LX?

We're (Multi Mode Manufacturing) currently running BPCS V8.2.01

ERP LX. One of our environments (Primary Distribution) are still on BPCS

I know that in our LX environment, I use a forms package with our spooled
files and it works without a flaw when creating formatted forms. We do
however, use EZ EDocs(formally EZPrint). It works with our invoices,etc.. we
also use to to create AP checks(spooled files come from FM module). As I
recall, Option also has a GUI designer? Do you download the spooled file to
the tool and then create your form? If so, how does the spooled file look?
Do the tool give you any errors? Could it be an issue with a font?

For your Logicals, have you tried redefineing the field in your logical
itself? Leaving out the DBCS stuff of course.

Optio may require characteristic changnes, I don't recall how it works.
But I would think it should be configurable to ignore the issue.

The system reply list should also work woth your Queries. Perhaps there are
more than one message?

Right, but we have other problems, most notably, our forms processing
package (OPTIO) doesen't seem to like DBCS spool files. Some of the DDS
logical files I have created use SST (sub string) on text files, which
now don't work. I have updated the system reply list, but I still get
the message for queries.

We are just getting into this, and I had hoped there would be an easy
fix for these problems.

I have queried both SSA (or whoever they are now) and IBM (we have
support from both) and neither have been much help.

I can't believe no one else has had this problem.

You don't need to change any attributes. Just put the message ID and
rpley into your system reply list. Then the message won't appear to
your users.

Has anyone encountered any problems with the DBCS database in v8.2? We
converted up a test version from 6.1 and we are having problems with a
lot of things we do outside of BPCS.

I can comment that AS/Set is no longer part of ERPlx. All of the code
in the original GA of LX was generated from AS/Set and every program has
been cleaned up by SSA/Infor.

Hi Jim,

I got hold of this mail via the BPCS Forum and would like to ask a few
questions.

1. Are you guys perhaps using EAM V9.0 (Enterprise Asset Management -
Plant
Maintenance) together with BPCS (ERP LX), and if so, how did the
conversion go for the interface?

(Upgraded from BPCS V6.1.01 in 2005) and will upgrade in Jan. 2007 to
ERP LX. One of our environments (Primary Distribution) are still on BPCS
V6.1.01 and is also upgrading to ERP LX in Jan. 2007. We will then share
this one environment!

Hi

While we run 4.05 for multiple environments, we did a new install for
8.3

Next year we will be upgrading, but not sure of we will go to 8.2 or 8.3
at this time ;)

Hi,
Jim, was your implementation to 8.3 from a prior Release of BPCS? 4,6,
or 8? Or PRMS? Or from a new Infor client?
Just curious.

I'm trying to find out if ERP LX (BPCS 8.3) has been implemented, and by
who. I also want to find out if there hve been any problems with it.
Do you know anything about it?
