Yeah, but.......... watch out for dynamic minimum balance (Min Bal Hrz Days...Min Bal Days) The result is stored in item Master...there is no "simulation item master". Also my clients usually are trying to "simulate" a subset of the items. That is, a new class of items or a 'trouble-some' class of items. So, since running MPS and then MRP over the COMPLETE data base can take awhile, you might consider copying a smaller set of Items, BOMs, Onhand qtys from production environment to a test environment. Then you can make a small change, run MPS/MRP, look at it, make another change, etc etc in a controlled environment without real users changing on hand balances or opening shop orders etc etc. Another reason to NOT use production environment is that some changes that you want to make are not item specific...like system parameters you may want to play with & you probably do not want to play around in your production environment. Your Computer Department will not want to create & refresh a test environment every day for you...but....you might be able to get them to replicate it for you once, then you can "turn-off" the MPS flag for most finished goods except the subset you are interested in and run MPS pretty quickly.... I think someone even sells a set of programs to help create test environments that are internally consistent ( IIM matches IWI matches ILI etc ...) -- Peace Jim Barry Belchertown, MA ---- DeeDee Virgei <DeeDee.Virgei@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hello, > > Anyone out there ever use BPCS 'MRP/MPS Simulation' programs?
