It appears that Daniel is correct... Here's an extract from the AS/Set source in 6.0.02. If the date is not changed the program issues an Update to the HQT record, otherwise this chunk of code executes... IF SVDIS1 <> HQDIS HQDIS (=) SVDIS1 END ** BMR1102E DELETE D.HQT,F.HQTL02 HQDIS (=) W8DIS WRITE D.HQT,F.HQTL02 I've added some "=" signs for clarity... This being the case... the direct answer to his question is that there doesn't appear to be a system value he can change that would cause the code not to delete and re-add the records. (of course that's my personal opinion only, and based on a quick review of the AS/Set code for my version... your mileage may vary!) Also I'm not talking about active and deactive..... I'm talking about the actual record gets deleted and re-added when the discontinue date is changed. The record always appears active to the user unless they delete it themselves. -----Original Message----- From: bpcs-l-bounces+dwilkins=suz.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bpcs-l-bounces+dwilkins=suz.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dan Sweeney Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 1:43 PM To: 'SSA's BPCS ERP System' Subject: RE: [BPCS-L] Vendor Quote Maintenance It sounds like your trigger is causing you the problem. Standard BPCS leaves the record active and the Purchasing system will pick the correct quote based upon the due date of the purchase order line. There is not a system parameter in answer to your original question. I suggest removing the trigger. -----Original Message----- From: bpcs-l-bounces+dsweeney=phoenixbcinc.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bpcs-l-bounces+dsweeney=phoenixbcinc.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Daniel Wilkins Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 1:04 PM To: SSA's BPCS ERP System Subject: RE: [BPCS-L] Vendor Quote Maintenance Mine stays active too. But I have a trigger over the file so I know that when the discontinue date is changed, it deletes the record and then adds it back with the new discontinue date. What version of BPCS are you on? -----Original Message----- From: bpcs-l-bounces+dsweeney=phoenixbcinc.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bpcs-l-bounces+dsweeney=phoenixbcinc.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Daniel Wilkins Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 12:06 PM To: bpcs-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [BPCS-L] Vendor Quote Maintenance Currently the Vendor Quote Maintenance program deletes the current record and adds a new one when the user changes the discontinue date, instead of just changing the record. Is there some kind of system parm or something that can be changed to make the program just change the record and not delete and then add it back with the new date? I don't have the source for this program and no way to get it. Thanks, Daniel
