Dennis: Most of our clients use Inovis Trusted Link for iSeries ... and in most cases, we do most if not all of their EDI work for them .. >From a functional point of view, we like the Inovis product better than Sterling. The last time we used Extol was a couple of years ago, but at the time we thought that it was on par with Inovis. We like Inovis support the best, Sterling is just OK, and we don't have any experience with Extol. I believe Inovis is pricier, which is OK with us for two reasons ... a) we don't have to pay the invoice, b) better stuff costs more, and c) it's painful and expensive to tear out EDI stuff ... I like using the big-dog utility vendor because I know he has staying power. I took a look at True Commerce just to see what you are shopping, and if I may comment ... a) Are you sure you want a PC solution? EDI sits right in the middle of your company's revenue stream ... shouldn't such a mission-critical application continue to reside on your most fault-tolerant platform? b) Is there something missing in Inovis that you hope to find in another product? Whatever it is, are you certain that this is something that belongs in the EDI translator domain? EDI consulting takes us to many customer accounts where the EDI project has not gone well. We have observed that, without exception, trying to get the EDI translator product to perform all EDI integration tasks does not produce acceptable results. I could write volumes about this idea.
