We looked at 6.02 and elected not to use it because of our volumes and requirements within the warehouse. WHMS, at that time, was working as well as the rest of BPCS and it was a good choice (hindsight). Management felt that the WHMS was not rich enough or flexible enough. It tended to tie hands in the order in which documents were prepared. We went with a third party. -----Original Message----- From: bpcs-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bpcs-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Andy Jacobs Sent: Monday, August 16, 2004 8:15 AM To: 'SSA's BPCS ERP System' Subject: RE: whm Danny You may want to look at third party solutions for your RF interface. The most obvious benefit would be speed in implementation and the ease of use. QuikTrac is one possible solution that would allow you to take your BPCS screens and extent them down to fixed or portable devices in 4 DAY OR LESS! With the QuikTrac solution, you would have the ability to make changes to your screens in seconds without having to reload the software on the scanning equipment. Another issue that you may need to address if you are a 7/24 shop is what do you do when the host is down for scheduled backup. Having your own team write a software package to handle this might take you months to complete? Evaluate your options and see what the costs would be. I think you may find it easier to implement a third party package. If you would like some more information on our solution or a few BPCS references, contact me off line for more information.
