Dear Tom, I respect your view that 8 e-mails is 6.5 too many. Please interpret the robust content as a measure of Unbeaten Path's exuberance for fully responding to a vitally important question. And, with full respect, permit me to observe that not everyone stopped reading in the middle of response #2. Today I got a call from the CIO of a multinational company with over 20 BPCS environments. He told me he had read the IT security topics under every line of this eye-chart: http://www.unbeatenpathintl.com/BOH-Benefits/source/1.html He then instructed his operations manager to begin reading every word of IT security content on our web site. If anyone else is interested in a convenient place to begin, here you go: http://www.unbeatenpathintl.com/ITsecure/source/1.html Peace to you, Milt Habeck Unbeaten Path International Toll free North America: (888) 874-8008 International voice: (262) 681-3151 European contact: (44) 1-737-824248 mhabeck@xxxxxxxxxx www.unbeatenpathintl.com ++++++ ++++++ +++++++ +++++++ +++++++ From: Tom Jedrzejewicz @ San Pedro To: bpcs-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 11, 2004 11:38 AM Subject: Marketing to the list ( was: Security Education et al) "Ardi Batmanghelidj" <ardibatman@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: >> Al, >> Based on your comments, it is clear that I have done an inadequate job of >> bringing our product to the attention of this group. I think I speak for all when I say I appreciate the sentiment expressed here. Two extremes have been demonstrated in this discussion. Mr. Batmanghelidj has been talking around what his company is selling, while Mr. Habeck and Mr. MacAlister have been shouting from the rooftops about what Mr. Habeck's company is selling. I think a middle ground is appropriate. There is no reason that a vendor can't reply to a question with some specific reference to a product, particularly when accompanied by substantive response to the issue. However, 8 posts and 50-60 URL references is overkill. Milt, you lost me in the middle of #2, and I was just irritated by the time #5 came in. I use the RSS feed; I can't imaging what the people actually getting emails must have been thinking. Obviously, others (including possibly our esteemed moderator) will have different opinions. Regards all! Tom Jedrzejewicz
