multi-link and mrp 540

We are currently using BPCS V6.1.00 version, and we have run into a
problem with the multi-link and the mrp 540. If we do the multi- link to
open all associated shop orders at once, then the multi level release
does not relieve these planned orders in the mrp 540, and this creates
the problem of having the shop order show needs as well as the planned
order continues to show needs, therefore you have double the needs. We
have scoured through all the material we have available to us, does
anyone know how we can use the multi-link and still be able to relieve
the planned orders? What are we missing?
