Dear Danny,

Application-specific hardware or low level software can definitely be tested
(qualified) independently.

You can apply simple IQ testing to generic hardware ; the level of testing
should be determined by a preliminary risk analysis.

IBM has done a redbook on that subject : sg246630.pdf that you can retrieve
on their website.

Hi Guys
a very specific questions to our pharma  members we are validating software
and have a discussion regarding testing of IQ separate for Hardware
/software
2- do we need to test the workstation (PCs ) eventhough there is no software
on the PCs (everything is on the AS.400 i think that the network PCs +
peripherals should be done separately and in the software scope -only the
server anyone got to that point and made a decision?
