Your question strikes at the root of contemporary computing, and a reality that we have lived through for several decades. It is almost like asking what is the difference between a PC, an NC and a dumb terminal, and where one would logically best use each. Do you know what a high level language is, the advantages of a complied language, and what a pre-compiler is? Your question implies that you have no idea what the differences are.

IBM has education in what their computers are, and what they can do, at about $1,000 a week, the last time I attended any. If you truely do not know what is the difference between Mixed Mode and Client Server, you need to get down to basics, and take the classes that are aimed at an entry level person who knows nothing about computing, or whose only exposure has been a single user desk top environment.

I also suggest you change your sig "title" from Analyst. It implies know-how that you are several years away from attaining. I spent almost a decade as a Junior Programmer and Systems Operator before my title was Programmer, and another decade before I could call myself a Programmer/Analyst. I have met several Full Analysts, and the know how that they have aquired is staggering. Analyst is not an entry level position. Analyst to entry level is like PhD to Secondary School diploma.

If in fact your employer has attained the ISO 9001 alleged on the web site, there must be in-house education to teach entry level personnel the kind of know-how that the web site claims are included in the staff. Perhaps you should avail yourself of your corporate training opportunities, so that your know-how can begin to approach that which the web site implies are among your co-workers.

Your employer's website (www.itti.co.in) claims to 'take your IT needs
offshore' (i.e. India), and also claims to have built up 'core competencies
in ERP, including BPCS'.
So why are they not providing training for you in this basic BPCS knowledge?
I would be happy to give you a BPCS Technical Orientation course, which I
wrote and taught internally and externally when at SSA - providing your
employers will pay me.
