Hi Melvin

We run 6.04 but I think the set up is similar in 6.1. I have found the
account rules useful but not infallible. We have had a small number of
entries via the subsystem that get past the rules. I have always been
unable to replicate the circumstances which makes testing BMRs a bit
difficult.

Below is our set up to make sure only accounts that belong in the balance
sheet department '0000' are posted to it.

Reject all accounts posting to Dept 0000
Allow only accounts that start with 1,2 or 3 to post to Dept '0000'

Ledger Segment Account rule Reject/allow Start End
Co Pl Dept Acct Sub Status
LOGRONO BALANCE Reject 01/01/2002 31/12/9999 *
*     0000  *     *     Active
LOGRONO BALANCE Allow 01/01/2002 31/12/9999 * *
0000 1* * Active
LOGRONO BALANCE Allow 01/01/2002 31/12/9999 * *
0000 2* * Active
LOGRONO BALANCE Allow 01/01/2002 31/12/9999 * *
0000 3* * Active

Hope this helps.

Dear All:

Has anyone here knew how to setup and control account rules for BPCS vs.6.1
? We can't seem to work it the right way. We tried different combinations
but still accept wrong account rules.

Regards,

Melvin
