Hello,

One other suggestion that a colleague mentioned to me, is to ensure you are
using the BPCS compile commands, rather than the IBM ones. These should get
you the right defaults. This text (or some similar version of it) should be
found in the SSALOG00 document in your BPCS DOC menu. (This has also been
posted to OGS Online for V8, as the DOC programs are not available in Full
Client/Server).

Thanks,

BPCS COMMANDS

There are seven commands in BPCS to create programs, display files,

printer files, panel groups, physical files and logical files. There

is also an overall command which can be used to mass-recompile all of

BPCS. These commands are used instead of the normal CPF commands.

AS/400 BPCS CMD

Command Command Program Submits Function

------- ------- ------- ------- --------

CRTRPGPGM RPG CLRPG1 CLRPG create RPG Program

CRTCLPGM CRTCLP CLCRTCLP1 CLCRTCLP create CL Program

CRTDSPF CRTDSPLY CRTDSPLY1 CRTDSPLY2 create Display File

CRTPF CRTPFILE CLCRTPFIL1 CLCRTPFILE create Physical File

CRTLF CRTLFILE CLCRTLFIL1 CLCRTLFILE create Logical File

CRTPRTF CRTPRTFILE CLCRTPRT1 CLCRTPRTF create Printer Files

CRTPNLGRP CRTPNL CLCRTPNL1 CLCRTPNL create Panel Groups

---- CRTOBJ CLCRTOBJ all of above Mass Compile all BPCS

The BPCS commands are in library BPCSO. Each command has the necessary

files, libraries, and job description to create the BPCS objects.

However, you can override the defaults by pressing CMD/4. These BPCS

commands should be used when creating objects in the BPCS libraries, or

unpredictable results may occur.

Note: The BPCS commands will not delete the object until the new

object has been created. The command will delete the old object and

grant authority to the new object, based on the old object. If the

object is not created, the command will save the old object and a

message will be sent to the user's workstation.

All of the BPCS commands are submitted to batch for processing. They

are submitted under the BPCS job description, and placed in the QBATCH

job queue. The printouts for these compiles are routed to output queue

COMPILES, which must exist in at least one of the libraries on the BPCS

job description's initial library list.

Subject: Compiling SQLRPG programs in BPCS

We had to recompile ASSETIZED RPG in a partially asset based version of BPCS
(5.1). We experienced problems with the program after it was compiled that
had never been there before we recompiled. Does anyone know what, if any,
parms on the CRTSQLRPG command need to be changed from the defaults?

Thanks in advance. Kevin W.
