Depending on the field and the barcode you may want to program the reader to do a field exit after the scan. We have used WASP readers and a Compsee wedge. We also have a symbol wedge and a wireless scanner. We have used them on CLI and Idea terminals (IBM 3497 compatible). Item # and Quantity are good opportunities for this application.
