BPCS 6.04
Fixed usage item costs for a shop order are based on the lot size from the item
master file or facility planning data. Enter a lot size equal to the shop
order requirement and see if it lowers the cost. Also the quantity of the
fixed usage item probably need to be 1/batch size.

We are currently using BPCS version B64HOSep98.3.10.

We occasionally use usage code 0 (Regular Component Fixed Qty) in our bills.
The quantity on these items is equal to the amount we plan to use to make
ONE BATCH of the parent, NOT the quantity we plan to use to make ONE UNIT of
the parent. When I roll costs on these parents, the components with a usage
code of 0 are fully costed and included in the parent's cost. Since the
quantities are PER BATCH and not PER UNIT, this type of costing is not
accurate. In our case, material costs are tripled on these parts.

Is there a way to change the setups in BPCS to exclude component parts with
a usage code of 0 from the cost roll up?

Becca
