This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] We are preparing to move from a model 500 to a model 270 AS/400. This move will necessitate upgrading from V3R7 to V5R1 on the OS, and we plan to move over our BPCS which is on 3.1 Release 02 (with Nexgen Y2K s/w). We're evaluating several options including 1) upgrading our existing box (which is already painfully slow) to V5R1 release by release which we think can be done over 2-3 weekends, and 2) creating all the system value stuff, communication stuff, user profiles, etc.??? on the new 270 box and then moving over all the other software, and 3) assuming it is possible, doing both concurrently hoping that the second option works, but having a contingent plan of using the first option if it doesn't. We are also collecting information and experiences from others that may be on such an old version of BPCS, and their experiences. We have heard there shouldn't be much to worry about since the older version of BPCS doesn't have any SQL statements. Any thoughts...opinions...suggestions? TIA, Jenny Carr --
