I don't think it has any meaning now.
Starting from BPCS 6.02  SSA only  uses CLSTS1,2.. for line status
validation. I looked at ORD951B -Order Status Update  for 6.04 release not
a long time ago and the program doesn't even bother to update LSTAT.
However a lot of programs still do update LSTAT and HSTAT I guess they
forgot to remove this logic. I personally don' t  trust LSTAT.

ECL in V6.1.00 Mixed mode? All contributions gratefully received....
