If access to a program is not available you might try Access. This type of
conversion can be done easily with Microsoft Access. Although not as quick
as CPYF, *MAP, *DROP, it can be done. The method I have used was to run a
Make table query in Access of the 6.0.04 file and a make table from 4.05 CD
file, locally on the PC. Then do an append query and populate the 6.0.04
file from the 4.05 file. Update any other newly required field in the
6.0.04 file. Once the pc version of the 6.0.04 is clean and ready do an
append query to AS/400.

Subject: Copying AVM in 4.05CD to AVM in 6.0.04

Hi
I am trying to copy the AVM file in 4.05 CD to AVM in 6.0.04. Now the 6.0.04
version has more fields than the other one. Beside that, there are some
fields that have same name in both files but with different attribute. I
tried CPYF with *MAP *DROP, but it did not work (*DROP does not work if
different attribute exists). *NOCHK did not work too. Any other idea?
TIA
Amitava
