Hi,

Good tips Dean. Just as FYI - in later BPCS releases 'CLMSG' is still called
that, but is no longer CL - it's OPM RPG in V6.0.04 (I think this was
changed at a cume level - can't remember which one exactly), and in V8 is
ILE RPG - making message retrieval (including literals and the rest) much
much faster (without clogging up the joblog!). Parameters to call it remain
the same, so that thousands of programs did not have to be altered....a
seamless transition. The use of CL language is irrelevant in this case - the
RPG version is using speedier AS/400 APIs to do the message handling.

Thanks,
