Ah, Genyphyr, I was right there with you until this last statement (except for the part about Al's postings being too darned long, I'm still with you there ;-P). Part of the reason that this list was formed in the first place, and what I've tried to dissiminate all along, is that pre-GT SSA wrote contracts that had more to do with making the sale than with any SSA company policy. Under the old regime, some large companies got ripped off, some not so large companies got ripped off. Some large companies made out like bandits, some not so large companies made out like bandits. Too many people here know my background for me to mention names or even industries of specific contracts. I will say that one of my large former clients paid $X million USD for a quite generous BPCS corporate license. One of my _other_ large clients comparably paid $2X million USD for a not so generous license. These figures were based largely upon the relative bargaining abilities of both clients and their respective (old school) SSA representatives; however, some consideration was given by the old SSA to their respective industries -- one was growth, the other was shrinking. Frank discussion of contracts here is _PRECISELY_ one of the reasons this list was created. The elimination of contract disparity is of paramount importance. I seriously doubt that SSA/GT is continuing this practice, but we should ensure that the practice does not return... JMHO, Dean Asmussen Enterprise Systems Consulting, Inc.
