AS/400 V4R5M0 BPCS 6.0.02 plf, C/S, Mar'98 cum I've played with XRF before & have never gotten it to work. I've added the physical file member (SS is the default) to XXD & to the XXDLxx logicals. The programs now do not bomb when called but neither do they produce any output except a joblog. I call XRF500c & it does something but stops after 10-15 seconds when run interactive. When it comes time to run XRF100C, seeing as how I have no source, I leave the first column blank & it does not like that. Of course, all the XRFxxxC CL source programs were created with ALWRTVSRC(*NO) so you can't figure out what should be happening. Client/Server people (at least the older versions) again get the short shaft when trying to run some of these "documentation" tools. I only got DOC to work after more trial & error. It will not come out formatted as a M/M customer gets. I had a "VERY KIND" SSA Help Line person print out the logic manual & send it to me. Why do these things not work in the Client/Server world - at least in the "older" versions? And of course you can bet that they never will be made to work. Not a "high" revenue" generator. So when somebody says they work, list the type & version you are on so I know better than to get my hopes up about getting something good for nothing - that really should have been there. Except my company happened to buy a version that "documentation" was considered an after thought & they haven't gotten to that thought yet & never will. Thanks - Dennis.
