we are on 6.04 and we have had several issues with cost bucket zero. we have
written our own program to recalculate cost bucket zero from the sum of the
other cost buckets. this program also updates the total standard cost fields in
the CIC and IIM, for cost sets 1, 2, and 3.

some of the problems were that cst500/cst600 have an error in them where they
sometimes put a previous parts cost into the subsequent parts CMF records. i
think there is a bmr for this. also changing from buy to make can cause
problems where the cst500/cst600 programs do not recognize a cost in the this
level material standard. (whether that cost should be there or not is another
issue. but i would think that the programs should recognize it and roll it up
into bucket zero if it is there.)
then we've had issues with the configurator module where is launches a cost
generation and if you get multiple cost generations running simultaneously, you
can get multiple CMF records with the same record key.

we run a program to look for errors in the CMF file and clean them up every
night.
