I do not know if this is what you mean:

When you have started up 'receive file from host', next to the screen output
device (which should mention "file") you can click on details and select in
file type: BIFF5 (MS excel 5). Now the data will be downloaded in Excel
format and all characters will be clear.

but when data received from this file into display screen or excel,
