AFTER 24 HOURS, THE "ITEM ON A FORECAST" FLAG CLEARED AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATE ITEMS INACTIVE. I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM, BUT AT LEAST I WAS ABLE TO PERFORM THE MAINTENANCE. -----Original Message----- From: Fran Clements Sent: Friday, April 20, 2001 7:55 AM To: 'BPCS-L@midrange.com' Subject: ITEM MASTER MAINTENANCE (INV100) I HAVE A "NEW" SITUATION, THAT I WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED. I ROUTINELY GO INTO INV100 AND MAKE COMPONENTS "INACTIVE" FOR VARIOUS REASONS. IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE, IT WAS BECAUSE MARKETING CHANGED THEIR MIND AND THE PART WON'T BE NEEDED. NO HISTORY EXISTS. ITEM WAS PURCHASED, BUT NEVER RECEIVED, AND PURCHASE ORDER WAS CLOSED. I ALWAYS EXPERIENCE A HIERARCHY OF ITEMS THAT MUST BE DEALT WITH BEFORE THE ITEM CAN BE MADE INACTIVE. QMS105 - ITEM/MANUFACTURER RELATIONSHIP SFC510 - IF PLANNED ORDERS EXIST, MUST BE DELETED. BOM500 - ITEM ON A BOM OR ITEM HAS A BOM SFC100 - ITEM HAS A ROUTING (NOT THE CASE THIS TIME AS WE ARE DEALING WITH A COMPONENT) CST100 - ITEM HAS COSTS THEN, WHEN I SUCCESSFULLY DEAL WITH EACH PROGRAM, I AM ABLE TO MAKE THE ITEM INACTIVE. NOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN, I GET MESSAGE "ITEM ON A FORECAST". THE ITEM IS A COMPONENT, DOES NOT HAVE A FORECAST, AND WE ARE NOT EVEN USING THE FORECASTING MODULE (WE ARE ENTERING FORECAST INTO MRP 100 FOR FINISHED GOODS ONLY). HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT EVENT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN ALL OF A SUDDEN? +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +---
