RSS stands for Repetitive Supplier Schedules. It used to be an add-on
module that was programmed by (I believe) an SSA affiliate in the UK. In
version 6 it has been fully integrated into the base PUR module. You can
see these programs from the Contract Purchasing menu option under PUR.

FORGIVE THE IGNORANCE, BUT

We are a flavor manufacturer ... nothing to do with automotive! We do,
however, do a lot of contract purchasing, like the automotive industry
probably does, for high volume items like sugar, as well as yearly
contracts for seasonal items like fruit. The ability to issue a contract
and then release against that contract is really the only functionality
that RSS adds, as far as I know, but base BPCS does not offer that (at
least, not at the 4.0.5 level), and it was critical to our purchasing
organization.

My understanding was that this product was intended
for use by companies in the automotive industry - is
this true of your company?
Also, does RSS add that much more functionality to the
standard BPCS purchasing product?
Thanks much!
