I have recently been working with a product called "COGNOS FINANCE". It
address a number of financial applications that are less that robust in
BPCS v6 including:
   financial report writing
multi-currency & currency translation (including Euro support)
   multi-company eliminations & consolidations
   structures and hierarchy
planning & budgeting - this product has some "real" tools for doing
   these applications
   allocations

We use BPCS to capture & store transactional data, then pass account
balance information in Cognos Finance. We can even do EOM entries in
Cognos Finance & pass those back to BPCS, or, just keep the "final" books
in Cognos.

If you would like more information, please respond & I will follow-up off
line.

Do any BPCS users on the list use a separate Financial Package (eg. Sage)
in tandem with the other modules in BPCS. My company has used BPCS for two
years now, and while the system is currently meeting our requirements for
the Operations side of the business, the Finance side has fallen (well)
short of our expectations. We are now investigating the possibility of
using a bolt on package but would like to hear some independent views on
the relative merits of this approach. If anyone can offer any advice or
share any experiences in this area it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for any possible assistance.
