Chandra: I am assuming that you have entered the Forecasts within MPS in Forecast Maintenance (MRP100) and that you have valid Bill of Materials entered in BOM500 with valid Effective and Discontinue Dates. The parent Item for which you have entered a Forecast should be coded as a Master Schedule Item by placing a "M" in the MRP Code in Item Master Maintenance (INV100). In this case, it will be planned during MPS Generation (MRP500). Otherwise, it would be planned during MRP Explosion (MRP600). The fact that you do NOT see any explosion of components is probably due to the Order Policy Code which is found in Item Master Maintenance (INV100). If it is a blank, then the Item is skipped for MPS/MRP planning. You should also check these values in Facility Planning Data Maintenance (MRP140). The data values actually used in MRP500 and MRP600 are stored in this file (CIC). They initially default from the Item Master. However, if your Item Master values were blank initially, then the Facility Planning Data is probably blank as well. There is a function key (F15=Copy Defaults) that you can press to refresh this data from the Item Master. Hope that this helps you find the problem.
