You might want to take this off-line if further exploration desired since
there have been lots of past threads on BPCS documentation, so you must be a
new member of BPCS_L that joined since them, but I have cut out the other
stuff & inserted more info on the two documentation sources you asked about.

I do not believe this outfit has a web site ... I will have to dig into past
e-mail to get the address & phone # ... and buried some place at the office I
have the table of contents of the manual which I asked for to see if it was
worth while for us to get & it was, but I am up to here in other things to
look at.

The BPCS reference manual by David Slicker is like a reverse engineering of
what all the files are & what they are used for & what all the codes in all
those fields MEAN.

> the UPI manuals have the major files by application with update paths
> from a realistic user & management by application

The UPI manuals cost like $250.00 each & each one covers a group of related
integrated applications, like ... I do not have them in front of me so
appologies if I did not get this quite right

understanding costing & how it fits into the engineering BOM routings area &
a whole lot more
planning modules - MRP CAP DRP JIT SFC PUR etc. & how they all fit together
financials & traditional accounting modules

If I remember correctly there are 6 manuals in the set.

However, the lists of major files are rather simplistic from perspective of
MIS or power user ... the UPI manuals are reviewing how all the programs fit
together, the normal flow of what we are supposed to do, they are not getting
into the innards of the files involved for people interested in modifications
& what files are best to use for what added reports. You have to supplement
them with other resources.

get more specifcs from the UPI web site
