SMG Code Examples

I am embarking into the nether underworld of SMG programming.
I have written some code to build,query and destory the containers,
and have actually gotten the code to compile.
(No small feat on the AS/400, trying to find out missing include files
and libraries)
So, now that I can build the 'messages', I am trying to connect 
using the EMIConnect calls.  I am h aving a bit of a problem because
the documentation that I have on SMGs seems to contradict itself,
and I have heard, from SSA in fact, that the examples in their documentation
do not work.  (No surprise there!)

So, what I am looking for are some working SMG code examples
so I can get my stuff to work.  Once I do, I would be willing to write
something up for the BPCS Documentation Effort.
