Paul, Thanks for the feedback on both the bad join and performance. My experience at running these guys in general is that they can really bring a box to its knees. I originally wrote these and gave them to a programmer who rewrote them entirely in RPG. She made them run faster by doing first the filter on the primary, then joining just those records to the GXR and dumping that to a temporary file...yakitty...yakitty till the whole thing was done. Running the SQL's as monolithic one pass commands was just too hard on the system. Thanks for catching the bad join. Any luck with checking the impact of Grouping/Summarizing on these queries? Geo.
