Dean, Thank you to you and the other list members who replied to my question. Migration from Macola to BPCS requires, IMO, extensive business and technical knowledge of both applications, the environments they run in, as well as very good project management skills. We don't know at this point what our role in the migration (by the end of this year) might be, but we always like to be prepared. At this point, we have "extended" the Macola system somewhat by generating client-specific Crystal Reports that are not provided by Macola (the client has built their own relatively simple reports, but we've built more complex reports involving many table joins). For performance reasons, we often use the Macola ERS facility (using VBA) to extract the report detail to an external file and point Crystal to the external data source. The client can produce repeated variations on the report without impacting the production system. My goal at this point is simply to provide some reasonable feedback to the client, whenever they ask questions such as "can we still get this report?". A basic understanding of the BPCS database schema would be very helpful, and list members have assisted greatly in this regard. Of course, it may also be that the reports are available in BPCS already, although the current Macola reports are rather "specific"... Thanks again. More details to follow. --Doug > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-bpcs-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-bpcs-l@midrange.com]On > Behalf Of DAsmussen@aol.com > Sent: Friday, February 11, 2000 3:51 AM > To: BPCS-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: BPCS Database Definition > > > Doug, > > In a message dated 2/10/00 9:29:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, > dporteous@home.com writes: > > > Are there any publicly available sources of technical > information regarding > > BPCS?
