I would re-open the performance incident you mentioned. Are you saying the
DBMON didn't reference any logical files required? Are you certain the DBMON
was run properly to capture file opens and that the file is a good capture?
Without a good capture, analysis is pointless. You need to start the DBMON
BEFORE the person enters the program that causes the problem, so file opens
are captured, and they should ideally sign off BPCS, sign back into BPCS and
then start DBMON and run the program.

Or, just because DBMON doesn't recommend a logical does not mean the SQL is
good - it could be the statement needs to be re-written or other things such
as bad joins or bad logic in use of SQL. Or, if it is not showing any SQL
statements taking too long to run, that still does not mean it is not a
performance problem! Other things in RPG can cause bad performance, such as
poor logic.

I would encourage you to re-open the Helpline call, and even speak to a
Helpline manager if necessary to get the problem properly addressed,
especially if this is one of only a few things that run slowly on your
system. That time frame is unacceptable. On the other hand, if everything is
running slowly, you should consider having the box tuned.
