Hi Nazir I interpreted your question in two ways. 1) You want to use triggers to identify activity on the file. 2) You want to know which program is called as the trigger program and because of activity in which calling program. I would suggest journaling as the most expedient way to identify activity on a file. This will show updates and even open and closes on any file that is journaled. It will also identify users and programs which created the journal entry. DSPFD will show you the triggers that are active over a file, for actions such as add and update. So if the journal record shows an update to the ELA, you will know which program did the update, and by virtue of the trigger entries, you will know what program was activated. Hope this helps Regards Ardi >From: Assetguru@aol.com >Reply-To: BPCS-L@midrange.com >To: BPCS-L@midrange.com >Subject: Data Base Triggers.... >Date: Sun, 21 Nov 1999 11:49:19 EST > >HI, > >I am interested in trapping program ORD700-ORD570 I/O activity on files >ELA >and EWR using Data Base Triggers.
