Have you tried CPYTOIMPF command? 
It can create a Cursor Separated Variable (CSV) file from any file on
the AS/400.
A CSV file can be imported to A LOT of applications, including all
spreadsheets. 
The other direction is CPYFRMIMPF - accept a file from PC directly into
your DB2/400 file.
