I checked & could not find any problem ... our MPN can handle up to 9,999 records (note sequence #) by combination of item / operation / facility / type ... with *NOMAX in IBM terms ... how close to the ceiling are you ... can we get rid of soft-deleted records or do the remaining sequence numbers have some external significance. We do additional description on routings via a diversity of operation types ... one type is connected to work center etc. actual routings, then type 3 is like a comment. Depending on how filters work & whether you are doing global or facility specific, there might be a conceptual error on the part of the person who is having the duplicate entry error. It is awful easy to get confused between what stuff should be by facility & what should be global & if someone is doing a copy who is not cognizant of this possibility I could see a duplicate created by human error. Also consider the possibility of some item operation has been soft deleted so it does not show up on the screen, depending on the logical access path used, but it is in the file, now you re-assign that number & try to copy into it ... will that create a problem by surprise ambush? There are problems with SFC100 in BPCS 405 CD in the user-unfriendliness dept ... we have many screens of data ... user adds data to screen # 10 & program returns them to screen # 1 ... they scroll forwards to screen # 10 to verify correctly entered, then add some more stuff & program returns them to screen # 1 ... very annoying. Also when doing deletions, they need better combinations supported & easier to find ... do not delete this because it is used precisely where. > From: oludare@ix.netcom.com (oludare) > > Hello guys, > > I'm on BPCS 6.00.02 Jan Cum OS400 V37M0 > > I need some help with SFC100.
