I like Crystal (+ Seagate Info) because it is feature rich at a fantastic price. The main differences between base Crystal Reports and Seagate Info are that SI offers server based scheduling and distribution of reports, additional security features, and additional web integration. SI includes the base Crystal Reports as a subset. They had a deal going earlier (possibly still out there?) where they give you SI for "free" the hook being that they will pitch, but not require you to buy, a support agreement that includes upgrades and tech support. I have a client who implemented the HTTP service on their AS/400, then showed me how Seagate Info ran a sales report daily and posted the results to an HTML file on the 400 that users could load from their web browser. Totally Star Trek. For the price it's a no brainer to go out and buy a copy and try it out to see if it meets your needs. If you have a PC based payroll or fixed assets program go dig through the boxes--you may already own an OEM copy.
