I promised I would update this list with what I found regarding BPCS ECM
perfromance.
To recap we had 150 line orders taking 2 minutes to load.
Much was made of SQL performance issues and we used DBMON to set up a couple of
lgls, but in the end not much changed.

I then noticed that for a 20 line order we were getting a 30 page job log.
When we
processed lots of orders the joblog of the background ECM job was thousands of
pages.

As a default our IT dept sets job logging to (4 00 *MSG) LOGCLPGM(*YES).

Investigation showed that the ASSET programs were created with the following
Log AS/SET file processing messages . . Y Y N
We recompiled all the ASSET programs with the above parameter set to N.
This reduced the joblog to about a quarter of its original and the average time
to
process an order halved.
I then changed the ECM job to LOGCLPGM(*NO) and set then log lvl to (2 11
*MSG) .
The order processing time dropped to about 45 secs. Small orders were processed
even faster (5 - 10 secs).

I am curious as to what other sites have experienced.
