I do billing occasionally in the evening when shipping is working later than
accounting wants to go home. We are on AS/400 BPCS 405 CD rel 01 mix mode

1. We use SNDMSG/400 or voice phone to make sure shipping is in fact done for
the day.
2. I run BIL500 on-line for all range of customers - this generates invoices
for 100% of everything that they shipped today.

What is BIL550? Is that the job that reprints invoices after BIL500 creates
them?

Shipping puts stuff into the BBL file which is then the input to Billing.
If they do not ship anything, then Billing has nothing to invoice.

1.5 we run some query reports listing stuff off of the BBL file whose
contents go away when Billing is done.
