The same is available for 6.X systems, but I do not have it handy. Create BPCS Test Environment 1. One way to create a second BPCS environment is to reload the entire set of BPCS production or C&A tapes and rename all the libraries. This way be appropriate if extensive modifications are planned to BPCS programs, file structures, libraries, etc. However, this is a very time consuming process and requires a large amount of disk space. 2. This document explains another method of creating a test environment. This is based on the following assumptions: A. No BPCS programs or file structures are being modified in the new environment. B. The client wishes to create a test environment which will not affect BPCS production files. C. The test version of BPCS files library BPCSF is BPCST. D. The test version of library BPCSUSR is BPCSUST. 3. Create BPCST: A. If you have the available DASD, you could CPYLIB - BPCSF to BPCST. B. If you are unable to duplicate the BPCSF library, at a minimum you need to copy these files from BPCSF to BPCST: GCD, IAUTHS, ICODES, ICOD3S, ICOD5S, IDRCTS, IENTRS, IFMTMS, IFMTXT, IFMVRS, IJOBDS, IJOBOS, IRULES, ISCTNS, ITABLE, ITE, IUSERS, IYEARS, NDS, QDI, QFR, QFV, WSM, XXH, ZIW, ZMA, ZMM, ZMO, ZOM, ZPA, ZSC, ZSO, and ZUT. You also need to CRTDUPOBJ - data areas SSASYS, SSASYS2, SSAEDI, WYDTAARA, RPGHSPEC and INQDTA07 from library BPCSF to library BPCST. 4. CPYLIB - BPCSUSR to BPCSUST. 5. Modify the CLP source BPCSUST/QCLSRC/BPCSMENU. The value of the variable and USRLIB should be changed to BPCSUST. 6. Use the BPCS command CRTCLP to compile CLP - BPCSMENU. The source and object libraries are both BPCSUST. In order to use the CRTCLP command, BPCSO must appear in your library list. 7. The INLIBL data area for BPCSUST contains the library list for all interactive jobs. To modify this data area to access the newly created library, first use the Display Data Area command (DSPDTAARA) to review the INLIBL data area contents. Record starting position and substring length of the entries BPCSUSR BPCSF. These values should then be used with the Change Data Area command (CHGDTAARA) to modify the library list to access new libraries. Make the following changes to the INLIBL data area of BPCSUST: A. Change BPCSUSR to BPCSUST. B. Change BPCSF to BPCST. The format for the DSPDTAARA and CHGDTAARA is shown below: DSPDTAARA DTAARA(BPCSUST/INLIBL) CHGDTAARA DTAARA(BPCSUST/INLIBL) These commands can be prompted for input by pressing the F4 key 8. From the Systems Function Menu SSAZ00 in the production environment, take option 2 to display the System Control Data Area SSASYS to determine the name of the BPCS job description. This job description contains the library list for all BPCS jobs which are submitted to batch. This job will be referred to in this document as (JOBD). 9. Use the WRKJOBD command for BPCSUST/(JOBD) to determine the library list and change it for your test environment. 10. CRTUSRPRF - use the same parameters as a current BPCS production user profile with these changes: A. group profile = SSA B. owner = *GRPPRF C. initial program = BPCSUST/BPCSMENU 11. Signon with the new user profile. 12. From the System Functions Menu SSAZ00: A. Option 1 (SYS100) - change the company name to indicate the test environment. The record key is COMPANY. B. Option 2 (SSASYS) - change the default BPCS library to BPCST and change the BPCS job description to BPCSUST/(JOBD). 13. Press F21 to access a command line. DSPLIBL to verify the new libraries. To verify the library list in the job description, DSPJOBD - *LIBL/(JOBD). 14. For further information, refer to logic manual SSALOG00 under "Other Libraries" and "Library Lists" sections.
