Folks, I created a very useful tool that I'd like to share with this group. I have had it installed and tested at several cients and the results are positive. Anyone who wants a copy let me know. Here's some details on the tool: The AS/SET Viewer tool was created because SSA’s AS/SET product lacks a lot of functionality. For example: * No good way to browse Action Diagrams. Most programmers choose not to Save when prompted. This speeds up entry and exit. But also any accidental changes are permanent. * No way to display/search the entire program including subroutines. Have to go into each subroutine to view it. * Each line has an annoying underline which makes it hard to read code. * Hard to tell when a line has been commented out. * Hard to associate IF/DO/END statements with each other. * If a SET is locked, can’t look at any programs residing in it. The Viewer addresses all of the above issues. Its main purpose is to allow programmers to quickly browse AS/SET’s Action Diagrams and understand their logic. This is accomplished with the help of: * Color-coded lines to easily distinguish different line types. * Indented Views. * Ability to view/search the entire program including subroutines. * Ability to view all programs in all SETS, even if SETS are locked. AS/SET Viewer is written in native RPG and CL with field-sensitive help text and pop-up windows.
