All end-month jobs should be run after normal users have said they are done
with the old month transactions, and they should be instructed, with some
enforcement, not to be entering new transactions until end-month fiscal has
completed.

There is some stuff on the list, that I consider an after-thought.
MRP500 MRP600 CAP - we run this stuff at least daily - regens at nite, net
changes at lunch time --- it needs to be re-run after all the end-month
activity, but should not be a bar to ordinary users getting back on the
system.

Anything related to orders & inventory transactions is time sensitive if you
are depending on reports to reflect a whole month's activity. We generally
do not care about a day or so variance, assuming that last minute stuff that
does not get entered until the next fiscal month is not worth bothering with
... except when we do our physical & we do not do it at end-year-fiscal but
at an end-month.

There is a point of cut-off to print tags & process their input --- up to a
point people can be keying in batches of tags before all transactions are
processed for late inventory receipts & final rush shipments & labor input,
and we just let the last minute stuff go into variance, since one day's
activity is considered to be trivial compared to the total time period
involved.
