After personally installing dozens of systems with 6.002 and 6.004, I would
recommend that you go with green screen vs. GUI. This is my personal
preference only but it seams to be shared by most users who have seen both.

-Green screen often is more compact in that it takes fewer screens to
display the same information.
-Green screen also takes less key strokes to enter data.
-It is easier to navigate. i.e. you can simply type in a program number and
the system will call it.
-It is easier to print and work with spool files from the standard tools in
green screen vs. full GUI.
-File transfers are built into Client Access
-Training time seams to be less in green screen vs. GUI

As far as converting from 1.0 to 6. I would recommend that you write the
conversion programs yourself or hire us to help you. My experience with the
BPCS conversion tools is that it will take you longer to use and correct
than if you started from scratch.

As far as the horsepower is concerned, SSA now has a good sizing program to
use to determine the processor you need. Again, we would be happy to help
you with this.

Good luck,
