We were new to the AS/400 and BPCS when we started to install 6.0.02 full C/S.
We were not and still are not RPG programmers. We had decided that we would not
modify BPCSl and went live six months ago with no mods and still have not made a
mod..

When we decided to replace our old system we were faced with writing a fairly
complex Product Warranty/Serial Number tracking system. We decide to use
Delphi/400. All of the requirements outside of BPCS are written in Delphi for
the client side and in COBOL for the server side, many existing programs were
converted. There are client side applications that have the business logic
built into the client side and we have some that execut the business logic on
the AS/400. Delphi is expensive, but it is a very stable and reliable product.
The real downside is that client side logic is written in Pascal.
