While reusing deleted records does decrease the occupied disk space on the AS/400, you must not do so if you use journaling on BPCS files. I believe that journaling BPCS is essential to any BPCS energency recovery procedure. Although BPCS does not include commitment control, journaling may be invaluable in both in case of a disaster, such as a disk crash, and in debugging and investigating the BPCS database. Setting the "reusedlt" parameter to *yes may cause the journal to be inacurate, reorganizing the physical files on a regular basis will certainly render the journal useless. _________________________________________________________________ Shalom Carmel tel 972-9-7662818 General Manager fax 972-9-7656392 Venera Systems Ltd email shalom@venera.co.il +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +---
